FAQ
A: No. The grooming trailer comes fully equipped with a large capacity hot water tank that provides warm water for bathing each animal.
A: Jan's Mobile Grooming uses premium quality shampoos and conditioners. Let me know if your pet has any skin conditions that require the use of a specialized shampoo.
A: It all depends on the breed, your pet's lifestyle, and the surroudings where you live. Some clients have their pets groomed on a regular schedule, typically every 6-8 weeks.
Q: What if my dog is scared of water or hates being groomed?
A: I use a lot of pampering, positive reinforcement, and an occasional doggie treat to put reluctant dogs at ease. Grooming sessions can also be broken up at no extra charge if necessary to reduce the stress level of your pet. It will take a while for your pet to relax and view grooming in a positive light if he or she has had a traumatic experience in the past.
A: Dogs and cats need to be brushed regularly. Should your pet become badly matted, please let me know so an appropriate amount of time is allotted for the appointment. If the matting is too severe, your pet may need to be shaved so he or she will look a bit unusual until the fur grows in. To keep matting to a minimum in the future, I can help you learn how to properly maintain your pet's coat between groomings.
A: If your pet is not already taking flea medicine monthly and becomes infested with fleas, he or she will need to be bathed in a medicated shampoo that will eradicate the fleas that are on the animal. If the fleas have infested your home, a treatment such as a flea fogger may also need to be used. Once these two steps are completed, I recommend that you discuss with your veterinarian which monthly flea prevention medicine is best for your pet.
